Patricia Gentili-Poole

Duties and Interests:

As the Collections Information Manager, Patricia is responsible for all aspects of digitization projects, including collections databases, digital images, and Type Specimens and Species inventories. She is also in charge of transactions management for the Department, including the approval of all specimen transactions by reviewing and signing the associated paperwork. Working with the Entomology Digitization Advisory Committee which includes representatives from three government agencies plays a central role in devising policy about the digitization of the U.S. National Insect Collection and in making decisions about digitization standards and goals.

She is also the primary contact person for Cossoidea and Geometridae in Lepidoptera. These duties include curatorial improvement, identification, responding to queries about the collection, authorizing loans and hosting visitors.

Research Interests include the systematics of the Cossoidea (Lepidoptera).
